Dear Parents/Caregivers

Thank you for the outstanding response to our strategies planning meeting on Monday evening.
About 70 turned out to give ideas and suggestions for our future plan.

The staff and students will be consulted over the next week.

I look forward to seeing you at our music festival on Thursday.

Meanwhile the seniors are making preparations for their camp at Kawau supported by a great parent team. I’m sure that all will enjoy the experience.

Thanks to Mr Easton for accessing a $7200.00 grant for our students to take part in the gymnastics at Bruce Pulman Park and Emma Robertson for the great co-ordination of this activity.

Kind regards

Linda Donnelly

From the LSM

Thank you to the parents and staff who attended Monday night’s meeting. I enjoyed meeting with you all and will certainly value your contributions to the person specification for our new principal and the strategic direction for 2011. The trustees and I will be working together on both matters over the next two months. We will keep you updated on progress. Our aim is to have the strategic plan completed by December ready for the 2100 year.

School Donations ~

This is the next update on funding matters. I have discussed broadly how the school is funded --              unfortunately in today’s environment for schools to achieve the extras that make the difference we need the support of parents. For some this is through the school donation for others it is assisting the school in various ways. Some do both and we are very grateful for these contributions. School donations are used to keep schools up to date with technology this may be computers, interactive white boards and other equipment that will enhance the technology curriculum. Library books, school readers not supplied by the ministry, mathematics and science equipment. During October the board will begin a process of consultation with the CCS on fundraising for 2011. There will also be discussions with staff and from parents discussions at Monday night’s meeting. A prioritise plan will be developed and combined with the expected donation pool. This plan will also be published in December, everyone will then be aware of the schools needs.

If you have not paid your donation for 2010 the school would be delighted to receive it
