Welcome to Term One ... we have had a great start to the year!

We have a vibrant class of 26 Year 3 students, with nearly an
equal mix of girls and boys.  Please read on to find out some
of the things we were up to this term!

This year we are focusing on our PRIDE values.  So far we have talked lots about Respect and Empathy.
We have already been given the opportunity to use these in our class.

We are showing respect to each other, our Teacher, our Parents and ourselves!

We have also learnt lots about Empathy ... because we had to use this when we had a new member in our class, her name was Avau.  Avau came to Clevedon School after the earthquake in Christchurch.  We all welcomed her and her family and used our PRIDE values to help her feel welcome.  Avau has now moved to another school ... we miss her very much and wish her and her family all the best.

This term we have also spent lots of time getting to know each other and figuring out what makes us unique! Lots of us enjoying playing with pets, dancing, doing sport and spending time with our friends.

Room 14 also enjoys doing art and had lots of fun completing these "Hot air balloons",we especially enjoyed weaving our baskets and gluing a photo of ourself on it!  Scroll down to see four examples!

We have also been working on how to keep healthy.  We found out that a balanced diet and exercise was the answer!
Room 14 has been trying to be very healthy and are choosing some healthy snacks for brain break.  So far most of us have been bringing in ... carrot sticks, oranges, rice crackers, juicy apple slices, popcorn and raisins ... YUM!
