INTRODUCTION

Clevedon School is a Decile 10, U5 Full Primary School. The school is situated in an attractive, country setting 15 km from Manukau City. We passionately value our long history of nearly 150 years, our traditions and unique rural character.

Clevedon School is a vibrant learning community in the fullest sense. We encourage our learners, both students and adults, to be

reflective,
resilient,
connected and
responsive.

Our beliefs about the ‘The Clevedon Learner’ form the basis for our decisions regarding the school’s curriculum. We follow a Learning Pathways approach to curriculum integration with high order thinking skills encouraged. There is a strong emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy as well as opportunities for specialisation. A special feature of school calendar is ‘Pure Week’ where teachers can teach to their passion and expertise.

We are a busy school with a variety of opportunities available for students in sports, the arts, and education outside the classroom and through special events. The school is the ‘heart’ of the Clevedon Community and provides for its learners through a wide range of rich learning opportunities. We are fortunate to have a highly competent, talented staff as well as outside providers who facilitate tuition in music, dance and a second language.

We believe that our learning environment well and truly prepares our students for their future as 21st century learners.
